INDIANAPOLIS, IN, July 12, 2006 - The Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship Series has announced that they will join NASA (The National Auto Sport Association) at their end-of-the-year championships at Mid-Ohio September 14th-17th, 2006.
The Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship will be the only formula cars to race on this championship weekend and will benefit from the exposure that comes from NASA's and Mid-Ohio's aggressive promotion of this event. NASA and Mid-Ohio hope to make this year's championships the largest amateur road racing weekend in the country.
This week-long event will also include peripheral activities such as manufacturers Auto X, Tech Seminars, Go-kart racing, Kids Activities, Exhibition Auto X/ Rally X, Drifting, Remote Control Car Racing and Slot Car Racing, Food, Concerts, Drive-In Movies, and much more.
NASA is the sanctioning body for Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship and is the fastest growing amateur road racing sanctioning body in the U.S. with 10,000 active members. Their membership has tripled in the last three years, and annually they hold 150 events nationwide.
